The Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) has signed a grant agreement worth USD 50,000

The Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition (THRDC) has signed a grant agreement worth USD 50,000 equivalent to Tanzanian shillings 120mil to implement a one-and half-year project aimed at empowering journalists working in the field of environmental rights advocacy.


The project will be implemented in partnership with Media Aid for Indigenous and Pastoralist Community (MAIPAC) a key stakeholder in promoting journalists’ rights.


The main goal of this project is to strengthen journalists’ capacity to advocate for positive environmental change and defend the rights of media practitioners working in this area. The project activities will include training sessions, advocacy initiatives, and legal support. This initiative will be implemented under the Environmental Human Rights Defenders (EHRDs) Desk of THRDC. Through, this project, THRDC aims to enhance the capacity and influence of journalists engaged in environmental rights advocacy for sustainable impact.
